Human Ruins
Human Ruins was released in 2018 and represented not only a change in direction but also in wider recognition for the band and their music. This suite of 13 songs was heavily inspried by walking the British Isles and the many myths and legends found on its shores. Mixing modern heavy metal with folk and progressive influences, the album was the first instance of what could perhaps be described as Dawnwalker’s signature sound.
The album contains an A3 map which charts the entire physical journey of the story, and was the first to feature the runic language which hides many secrets. To this day, nobody has fully uncovered the hidden meaning contained within the album and the runic symbols.
Human Ruins was recorded with Wayne Adams at Bear Bite Horse in late 2017, with Alastair Mitchell returning on drums and the first appearance from Dane Cross on bass and vocals. Elaine Round again returned to lend us her flute, and for the first time our friend Sian Alexandra Fawcett contribued vocals which added yet another layer to our sound.
