In Rooms
Our second album ‘In Rooms’ was released in 2016. A concept album, it tells the story of a woman who disappears for 13 days without explanation and no memory of the events that occurred in that time. The album is an attempt to imagine what might have transpired in these missing days.
It was recorded throughout 2015 and 2016, largely at Bear Bites Horse with Wayne Adams.
All songs written and performed by Mark Norgate
with:
Alastair Mitchell - Drums
Elaine Round - Flute
Bryan Schmidt - Violin
Moira Healy - Spoken word
Recorded and mixed by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse, London UK
(Vocals and synths recorded at home)
Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, Portland, Oregon
Sigils and drawings by Gemma Gary
Map artwork and insert designed by J. Maizlish Mole
This album is dedicated to the memory of Ms. Teresa Neele, may she rest in peace.
The initial intention for In Rooms was to have a long, sprawling record with over 30 tracks, much of which was to be interlude and narrative material that threaded the songs together. In the end, we ended up with a much more concise 13 song album, leaving us with a wealth of leftover material which we would later turn into a companion album - The Convalescent (2019).
